What Parents Should Know
We ask that parents drop off their kids to the designated pickup location 5 minutes early. If workers are sick or will be absent, please call/text 519-809-7263 to notify.
We recommend that workers wear running shoes, t-shirt, and shorts. Please bring long pants and a long-sleeved shirt to work in for in the morning when the fields are wet with dew. Please have a raincoat and rainboots handy in the event that the fields are very wet or if it starts to rain. You will need LOTS of water and a packed lunch. Detasselers will leave their belongings on the bus while working.
WE WORK RAIN OR SHINE. We do not work if there is lightening. If inclement weather occurs during work, we will bring our workers back to their pick-up locations for safety. Our hours vary from working half days to full days depending on the size of the field we have that day.
We will send pay cheques out via mail at the end of the season to all workers.
