What Parents Should Know
We ask that parents drop off their kids to the designated pickup location 5 minutes early. The bus will not wait for any detasselers. If workers miss the bus, will be sick, or will be absent, please call/text 519-809-7263 to notify.
We will inform you if there is work or not the following day via text message. When you receive a text from us, please reply to confirm your attendance at work for the next day.
WE WORK RAIN OR SHINE. We do not continue to work if lightening occurs while the kids are in the field. If inclement weather occurs during work, we will bring our workers back to their pick-up locations for safety. Our hours vary from working half days to full days depending on the size of the field we have that day. Detasselers can connect with their parent/guardian when they are on their way back to their pickup location by phone.
If we experience any emergencies with a detasseler during work, we will contact the first parent/guardian via phone number immediately that we have on file.
Please complete your child's consent form if under the age of 18. This will be emailed to all parents whose kids have a confirmed position with our crews for the summer.
We will send pay cheques and T4s out via mail at the end of the season to all workers. Your child MUST have a valid SIN to work for Pinco Detasseling. If your mailing address or contact information has changed, please notify us.

Please permit time for us to respond to you as we are managing over 100+ detasselers on our crews and receive multiple communications per day during our busy season in July!
